Pre-Order Policy

In today’s world, most model railroad manufacturers use a pre-order system to determine the quantity of the items they will produce.

What does that mean to you?

Basically, each manufacturer announces the models they intend to produce on a regular basis, usually monthly or bimonthly. Each announcement will list the models, part numbers, a date when they need to be reserved with the manufacturer and an expected delivery date, which is usually 6 to 12 months after pre-orders are due.

We do encourage you to pre-order any model that you may want prior to the due date. This will ensure you get the model you want when they arrive in the shop.

We usually do order extra models for the shop, but it is difficult to forecast how many might be needed to meet demand. There are cases when the model is completely sold out before they arrive in the shop, so unless you pre-ordered one or we ordered an extra one or two, they will be unavailable.

Things you need to know…

  1. We do not require a deposit on most items.
  2. You are NOT required to purchase a pre-ordered item if you decide you no longer want it. However, we do request you let us know as soon as possible so we can cancel the pre-order.
  3. We do request you pick up the item within a week of being notified the item has arrived at the shop.
