The Walthers Mainline HO Scale ACF Design 1,958 Cu.Ft. 2-Bay Covered Hopper is ideal for your late steam and early-diesel-era layout or train consist! Modeled with the distinctive "W" shape of its prototype, a pioneering ACF 2-bay covered hopper is based on a car first developed by American Car & Foundry in the late 1930s. The car soon became a standardized design that was copied by other manufacturers during the 1940s and 1950s. Thousands of these hoppers hauled cement, sand, powdered chemicals and other dry bulk materials into the 1970s. Accurately sized and detailed, the Walthers Mainline ACF 1,958 Cu.Ft. 2-Bay Covered Hopper features: 

  • Thin profile roofwalk with see-through tread, stirrups, end ladders and platforms for a more "scale" appearance
  • Factory applied separate discharge gates, vibrator brackets
  • Applied separate Ajax brake wheel and air reservoir
